Yes, one thing I did not have to create an account in order to see what it was about. I do not have a myspace anymore but I do have a facebook. I believe that social networking sites are important to educators. I love to keep in touch with family, friends, and coworkers on the site. I can "like" and become friends with many pages that I feel are important to me or that I would like to stay current with. And this goes for educational sites as well. I do believe since this is a social networking site that many many things can be misconstrued and dangerous or harmful to your career. I feel that as long as you keep your site appropriate and useful there is nothing bad that can come out of it. Nothing should ever go on the internet that you would want to keep secret. Teachers do need to realize that parents will also have a facebook! With that aside I do think that a social networking site can be put to good use.
